SteamLights at Bluebell Railway: Experience a magical journey on a steam train decorated with thousands of colourful lights. You can board the train at Sheffield Park Station, which is only a 25-minute drive from TN39 5JG. The train will take you through the illuminated countryside to Horsted Keynes and back, while you enjoy Christmas music and narration. SteamLights runs on select dates from 26th November to 24th December 2023. Tickets start from £125 for a table of four adults1. Drusillas Park Christmas: Visit one of the best zoos in the country and meet Santa in his grotto, cuddle the huskies in an ice cave, and admire the giant Christmas tree. Drusillas Park is located in Alfriston, which is about a 30-minute drive from our Parks. You can also enjoy the animal exhibits, the adventure play areas, and the festive food and drink stalls. Drusillas Park Christmas runs on weekends from 19th November to 4th December and then daily from 10th to 23rd December 2023. Tickets cost £17.50 per child (in addition to the normal park entry price)2. Leonardslee Illuminated Gardens: Explore the stunning gardens of Leonardslee House, which are transformed into a wonderland of lights and projections. You can walk through the glowing lakes and woodlands, watch the large-scale shows, and enjoy the funfair rides and Christmas markets. Leonardslee Illuminated Gardens is situated in Lower Beeding, which is about a 40-minute drive from our parks. The event runs from 26th November to 2nd January 2023. Tickets range from £10 to £18 and must be booked online3. A winter’s beach walk: If you prefer something more natural and refreshing, why not head to the beach for a winter’s walk? You can enjoy the fresh air, the scenic views, and the sound of the waves at Camber Sands, which is one of the best beaches in East Sussex. Camber Sands is about an hour’s drive from Chestnut Meadow Country Park. You can also visit the nearby town of Rye, which has a charming historic centre and a cosy pub.
