Having stayed at a few lodges previously with hoseasons. This one is on par with others.
We were in lodge 14 which has a reasonable lake view! Hot tub was lovely!
Other lodges we had stayed at have contacted us prior and given us a few details over the phone and explained check in- this one did not. So lacked a bit of customer service there!
Robes were a nice touch along with a small bottle of prosecco. However, considering we are in a pandemic, we would’ve expected a higher standard of cleaning of the lodge. We found garlic bread left in the oven from what we can assume was the previous occupants! Makes you wonder what else hadn’t been cleaned! Also hardly any hand soap was left for us so we had to go out and buy new!
The lodge was in a nice location- reasonable driving distance to Eastbourne, Brighton & Hailsham! We bought DVD’s with us having read reviews about WiFi being too bad for Netflix (which was true). Having stayed for 7 nights we would’ve liked some fresh towels mid way through but other than that all was nice!

My husband and I stayed for 5 days in sept. They lodge was lovely. The hot tub amazing. The only complaint would be the bedding. Clean of course. Just not great quality. The pillows were so thin I would def recommend bringing your own. I ended up with a sore neck. The lodge was clean. But you need to bring your own toilet roll, hand wash, and washing up stuff. Was easy to check in. Although due to covid the check in was 5pm. Not loads around unless you drove. But Eastbourne only 15 mins. We got a cab to Hailsham one day and that was about £10 each way. Has a Wetherspoons and few pubs. Lovely holiday.
